An Inconvenient Class

Reader Jeff Wita was set to put on a class through Minnetonka Community Education which would include a viewing of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" and Martin Durkin's film "The Great Global Warming Swindle" with a discussion to follow. Jeff came up with the class idea in order to balance out a class being led by Don Shelby a couple weeks prior- which would discuss the topics "What is Climate Change?"and "Energy Independence". Rather than simply call and complain about the sure-to-be one-sided Shelby class, he was more pro-active and put his own citizen-led class together. That's activism!

The idea received initial support, but now there have been phone calls made to the Director of Community Ed., Tim Litfin, saying they do not want Jeff's class taught.

Interesting.

Please call, and show your positive support for Jeff's class- I've watched "The Great Global Warming Swindle"- but not "An Inconvenient Truth" and I think it would be an educational experience to compare/contrast the two points of view.

If you agree- please call Tim Litfin, (952) 401-6800 or email Tim.Litfin@minnetonka.k12.mn.us.

Are you trying to imply Don Shelby is a well-dressed hippy?

Next you'll tell me that Obama is appointing a socialist as his global warming czar.

I'll be sending an email, most certainly, as one-sided tolerance really, really pushes my buttons.
